Topic: No longer lost in translation: The digitisation of evidence-based treatment for adolescent Anorexia Nervosa in real-world rural health settings

Speaker: Ashlea Hambleton, Tempe Mann Award winner 2022.

Abstract: Ashlea Hambleton is a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney and a Clinical Psychologist with special interests in eating disorders, women’s mental health, perinatal psychology, mental health technology and translational clinical research. She received the Tempe Mann scholarship in 2022 to support her travels to Kings College, London. Her visit to the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience there focused on the examination of digital care outcomes for families with a child living with an eating disorder. Ashlea will present the outcomes of this work, as well as share some of her overall learnings that the Tempe Mann scholarship afforded her.

About the Speaker: Ashlea has a B.Psyc(Hons1). M.ClinPsyc(Distinction) and is a PhD Candidate/Clinical Psychologist and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician, ANZAED. She has special interests in eating disorders, women’s mental health, perinatal psychology, mental health technology and translational clinical research. Ashlea’s research has focused on the digital implementation of evidence-based interventions into real-world community services with the aim to improve service access and outcomes for isolated and disadvantaged families.
